Christmas

Kendra was totally spoilt this Christmas. She got lots of toys for Santa and relatives. Here she is holding up the panda that Grandma S. got her for Christmas. Since John was on call, we spent dinner with Theresa and her family.

Halloween

Kendra was a lion for hallween. We got the costume at toys r us. She went to about 5 houses and got a bag full of candy. What a cutie! We then went to Theresa's house and played there for a little bit.

Kendra turns ONE!!!

Kendra turned on on September 9, but we had her party on the 11th. We had lots of guests and John made a BBQ. Kendra had a beautiful Madagascar cake. She loved eating it and got it all through her hair. What a doll! She also started walking on her birthday!

Summer is half over

Summer is half over and mat leave is coming to an end. Kendra is trying to stand on her own. I really don't want to leave her, but I want to go back to work at the same time. Oh, she can roll both ways now. She can play peek a boo and paticake. Just thought I would check in.

So smart

Today on the telephone to Grandma, Kendra said Hi so clearly. I called her during a horrendous storm that included rain, hail, thunder, lightning, and wind. Ugh. Our street was a little river. We had to zigzag our way to Safeway. It didn't phase Kendra a bit.

Kendra pulled up on the bookcase today and started pulling everything out. She also pulled up on a wall, got into cupboards and took a step by herself and crashed of course.

She has figured out how to stand in her crib. So when we put her to bed, she stands and screams. She can only roll over one way so sometimes she cries in the middle of the night to be flipped. She can crawl like a pro, but can only roll one way???? Yep, that's Kendra.

She's sleeping.
Here is our new way of changing her because she is so squiggly!

Swimming in the Kitchen

That's right! I set up a little pool for her in the kitchen because it's been so cold and miserable. She loved it. We also played with bubbles. She really looked confused by the bubble making machine. She also danced while sitting on the floor to Barney! What a wonderful daughter.

She had trouble falling asleep tonight.

Last night John got up and helped out. He actually told me to go back to sleep. Wow.

To the Park - Kin Coullee

We went garage saling today. Kendra had lots of fun. She loves people and we would get out of the car every few minutes and see new people. I bought her some cute outfits and some toys. We also got her some videos.

We then went to the farmer's market. Kendra enjoyed that too! She loves to smile at everyone. I bought some cookies, zucchini bread and some squares.

Then it was off to the park for lunch. John and I had BK. I had brought Kendra's lunch from home. It was a gorgeous day. Very warm in the sun with a nice breeze. I took Kendra on the swings. She really loves them and was squeeeeeling with delight. A man with his son told me that he didn't put his boys on the swing until they were over a year. He marvelled at how much Kendra enjoyed it. We moved on to the playground set. There was a ramp which I walked Kendra up. She looked so proud of herself. She grabbed ontot he yellow bars and was soooooooooooo happy. You could see that she was a bit jealous of the big kids running around. She just loves to walk. We also took her on the merry-go-round, teeter-totter the ice-cream stand, the fire engine and the car. Kin Coullee is a great place for her. She can do more than just the swings.

Not as chubby

She is starting to slim out. Her legs are really getting a work out with all the crawling and slimming out accordingly. She still hard her adorable chubby cheaks.

Kendra Loves her food

She's tried so many things now: Pasta, grill cheese, peas, toast, bananas and the list goes on. She thinks meal time is fun. She loves to make faces while she eats.

Pulling up!

Wow, she can pull herself up now. Mind you, I have to take the cushions off the chesterfield, and position her just so, but she did it on her own! And then fell backwards.... BOOM!

Sleeping with Daddy

We loaned out our bed to Joan and Larry.  Kendra gets up early and

we were sleeping in the Livingroom.  I put Kendra down with Daddy

while I ran to the washroom.  She did this everymorning while they

were here.  She wouldn't sleep though... just play.  Here,

Daddy is trying to sleep while Kendra poses for her shot.

Ice-cream

Kendra loves ice-cream.  I took John's parents and Kendra for

ice-cream and she couldn't get enough!  She got quite angry when I

didn't give her any... I gave in though.

Fingerpainting

Kendra's first time fingerpainting was a hit. She didn't even get it all over herself. We have framed the result and think it is quite the masterpiece!
Here is a picture of the new puppet we got for her.  We are calling it Dr. Phil.

Calgary Zoo

We got season passes which was just as well, because we went twice this

weekend.  She liked the monkeys and the plants the best.  We

ate lunch in the cafeteria and then she slept some.  We also did

the usual shopping thing.

Sitting so well!

Just look her!  She has a straight back and everything.  She

looks so proud of herself.  She likes to play basketball while

sitting down, with her baby basketball game.

In the BIG bath

Kendra was put in the big bath, but she seems a little scared.  I

hope everything works out.  We use a towel under her.  Who

knows, maybe we'll be going back to the little bath.

Cute Pic

I love this picture. The dress is from Gymboree! What a princess.

She is so cute. Here is a pic of one of the outfits we got in Havre. She's blowing raspberries like crazy.

Went to the village and one lady saw her and said, "That baby is cold." and scowled and me.... twice! Once going into the drugstore and once going out. It wasn't that cold out and she was wearing a warm jacket with her hood up. I wanted to slap her or at least tell her to mind her own business. I've never had any comments like that before. Someone peed in her cherios this morning!
Kendra's first trip to USA (Havre, Montana)

We got totally harrassed at the border: When was the last time you entered the US? Have you ever been fingerprinted? Blah Blah blah. They didn't even ask how long I was staying.

We had a good day. I bought a tonne of clothing for Kendra. We had lunch at this little place that sold 1/2 pound burgers. She had lunch in the car: oatmeal and sweet potato. She also had some watered down apple juice on the way back.

John got her some toys: a bubble machine, a sandbox toy and a ball. That kid is spoilt.

Sleep last night and today was horrible. I don't know what's wrong. Maybe she is getting sick. Something is up.

We bought a jolly jumper today and she loved it.

Theresa and the gang came over and gave Kendra some Valentine's presents. Kendra actually sucked on a sucker. She loved it and whined when I took it away from her.

Theresa and the girls fed her. She didn't eat much and was really fussy. I don't know what's wrong.

Chances are John will forget Valentine's Day for us. Probably no card, and no flowers. Why can't he make just one Valentine's special where I don't have to hint at this stuff. I did hint. I asked him to get Kendra some flowers and make it a tradition.
She got up at 12:15am again. I didn't feed her and she went back to sleep until almost 4am. I fell asleep on the couch until then. She then got up at 7am and has gone back to bed.

We went and got glasses yesterday. I brought some expressed milk in a Gerber cheapo bottle because I couldn't find the AVENT bottle. She drank from it!. These were 3 for 3.79 as opposed to 6 dollars each! Maybe it is because she is older and has started solids that she can figure it out.
Last night she didn't sleep well. I think it was because she didn't sleep well yesterday during the day. She got up just after midnight and I tried to let her go back to sleep on her own. She kept waking up so at 12:45 I changed her. She was still up often so I gave in and fed her about 2. She was up again just before 6am. Ugh. I'm so tired. We're going to be workiing on naps again today.
Today she also started High-Fiving! She was so cute. I put my hand up and she puts hers up too. She did it over and over again.
Went to Baby and You classes today. I'm definately the oldest one there. The older lady from last time didn't show up. I thought I might have someone to talk to who is closer to my age. They talked about childhood illnesses. Luckily Kendra hasn't had even a cold.

I weighed and measured her with her clothes on after the class. She was 18.12 pounds. She really hasn't gained much in the last month. Thank god because was growing so fast. She was towering above the others.

I went out with some of the other moms after the clas to Boston Pizza. Kendra slept through the first part of it and was awake for the second. She seems so much more aware than the other babies. She is always smiling and squeeling and wanting to grab stuff. She's sill addicted to standing.

Her diaper came apart this afternoon so I had to change her. Her diaper seems to be leaking pee a lot lately.

Here is a pic of her taken yesterday in her Oshkosh B'Gosh overalls.

Elkwater

Went to Elkwater for lunch today. Kendra had lots of fun in the restaurant. Everyone thought she was so cute! It was a bit cold, but she didn't mind at all.

Kendra loves her exersaucer. I think she loves the feeling of standing up by herself. I hope she doesn't grow out of it too soon!

Theresa's House

Image hosted by TinyPic.com

We went to Theresa's. Here is Theresa, Kendra and Canadace. Theresa always makes her laugh!

Allergy to peanuts

I had peanuts and a peanut butter and jam sandwich for lunch just before Kendra woke up from her nap. I kissed her all over and this is what happened. Actually this is just the start of it. I took her to walk-in, but by the time a doctor saw her, she looked ok. He did reccomend some benedryl for her. It made it her a bit hyper, not sleepy!

Computer Time

Kendra watches us use the computer and likes to try it out herself. She types away. It is so funny. We wrote a letter to grandma and grandpa. Here is the letter
